About Me

John Hester and John Densmore
John Hester has received numerous awards in photojournalism, including several first-place prizes, during his six years as a staff photographer for the Hunterdon County Democrat newspaper.
His photographs and accompanying article appeared in the November, 2004 issue of the British photography magazine Black & White Photography.
John's 1998 portrait of the Dalai Lama (for which he received an award from the New Jersey Press Association in 1999) was used for the official promotional pieces during his lecture series at Radio City Music Hall in New York City in October of 2007.
Over the years, John has pursued numerous personal photography projects, including his long-term project of photographing Beatles-era musicians and performers. These images were once described by Mersey Beat founder Bill Harry as "the best portraits I've seen of them as they appear now."
In March of 2019, John had his second exhibition of photographs at The Fest for Beatles Fans in Jersey City, NJ, where they were seen by thousands of festival-goers. He had also exhibited his work the previous year.
He continues to work on freelance projects and freelance newspaper assignments, and in April of 2018, thanks to his friend and fellow photographer Bob Schultz, he was one of the official photographers of the Asbury Park Music and Film Festival.
